Johan Lindeberg - Inspiring Women beyond borders
Welcome to a special exhibition with opening on May 1st in collaboration with The Photo Gallery in Halmstad, which represents the famous Swedish fashion designer and photographer Johan Lindeberg.
Johan Lindeberg is an icon in the fashion industry after a successful collaboration with jeans manufacturer Diesel and not least after the launch of his own brand J. Lindeberg. He took his first photos in 2011 and today he is an established name also as a photographer.
In this unique exhibition, Inspiring Women Beyond Borders, we get to see a series of images of our Swedish artist Loreen. Johan Lindeberg's photography is characterized by the same raw style as his clothing design. Often depicting dirty gritty cityscapes, with striking portraits taken with a sincere presence that reflects his unique perspective in our contemporary culture. Through his camera lens, he gives the viewer a chance to see the world as he sees it, combining fashion, art and street photography to create a compelling visual narrative.
FROM THE COLLECTION
The private photo collection of international caliber is built over 25 years and forms the basis of the museum's exhibitions. It is world-class photography, a unique photo collection of some 700 original photographs. It includes more than 50 photographs by Helmut Newton and 40 by Herb Ritts.
Also well represented are Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Michael Dweck, Robert Mapplethorpe, Anton Corbijn, Patrick Demarchelier, Chen Man and Steven Klein. And more than 40 other world-class photographers such as Chris Levine, Mona Kuhn, Arthur Elgort, Rankin, Ellen von Unwerth, Albert Watson and Nick Knight.
