A little bit about Kirsty Mitchell
Photographer Kirsty Mitchell is a versatile artist who uses her previous career in fashion to create costumes to produce images of enchanting dream worlds, all shot in the ancient forests of her native Surrey. Describing her method as 'Fantasy for Real', Kirsty spends months on her carefully handcrafted characters, costumes and props.
In the summer of 2009, Kirsty began the creation of the 'WONDERLAND' series - a project intended as a book in memory of her mother. The international recognition of this artwork led Mitchell to leave her career in fashion in 2011 and after a total of five intense years, the photo project was completed at the end of 2014.
