Fashion photography - now and then
Welcome to a grand celebration of the fascinating evolution of fashion photography - from the elegant studio arrangements of the 1930s to the transgressive and conceptual imagery of today. This exhibition brings together iconic works by the world's most influential fashion photographers and shows how their visions have shaped our view of style, beauty and identity for almost a century. In this visual landscape, the classic coexists with cutting-edge creativity, the commercial with the artistic, a place where fashion houses, magazines, photographers and models are given the space to realize their visions.

FROM THE COLLECTION
The private photo collection of international caliber is built over 25 years and forms the basis of the museum's exhibitions. It is world-class photography, a unique photo collection of some 700 original photographs. It includes more than 50 photographs by Helmut Newton and 40 by Herb Ritts.
Also well represented are Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Michael Dweck, Robert Mapplethorpe, Anton Corbijn, Patrick Demarchelier, Chen Man and Steven Klein. And more than 40 other world-class photographers such as Chris Levine, Mona Kuhn, Arthur Elgort, Rankin, Ellen von Unwerth, Albert Watson and Nick Knight.

Per-Anders Pettersson - African Catwalk
The African Catwalk series gives us an insight into a fashion scene that is largely independent of the Eurocentric one. Here, Europe is the periphery and Africa the center. Pettersson gives us a new, creative perspective on the African continent. His images not only challenge stereotypes of what is distinctive about African visual culture and fashion commonly seen in Western media with ethnic patterns, animal prints and colonial symbols, but confront the "Western gaze" and the whole one-sided image in the media where Africa is constantly portrayed as a war-torn continent full of poverty, disease and ethnic conflict.
